Play Table by Marcel Wanders

wanders_magis_table.jpegSince his involvement in the earliest days of the influential Droog Design, Dutch furniture guru Marcel Wanders has put materials to uncommon, practical use: one chair is made of macrame'd kevlar rope, hardened in an epoxy bath.

Wanders designed this painted work/play table called Little Flare for the Italian company Magis as part of their new Me Too Collection of childrens furniture. The legs and clear bucket-shaped stool also serve as storage. It's probably much higher high design than a kid actually needs, but then, a table like this is not really for the kids now, is it?

Check the Magis site for retailer and ordering information. [via the overwhelmingly design-savvy mocoloco]
